If I didn’t love myself, I wouldn’t be where I am today. I wouldn’t be able to push myself to try new things. I would learn that being comfortable is what’s most important and that self-growth doesn’t matter. I would learn to go with the flow and do what all my friends are doing because well, that’s what everyone’s doing. I would do what is expected of me and go day by day, no matter how stagnant things can be.
Everyone wants to travel. Everyone says they want to do it but very few people do. We, all, want to travel for different reasons. Whether it is to escape the world around us, visit the sights we see on Google maps & Buzzfeed, or to depart on a journey of self-discovery.
Whenever I hear the word ‘wanderlust’, my mind drifts to a place far, far away. A place full with adventure, beautiful scenery, and great food. The word simply ignites an almost magical and blissful feeling inside me. The word ‘wanderlust’ means a strong desire to travel but it’s so much more than that… From a person who has suffered from it’s paralyzing effects, I can say with great confidence and respect that it is a powerful, overwhelming feeling. It controls you in ways you wouldn’t have thought possible. If left untreated, you can see symptoms of depression, restlessness, and dissatisfaction.
